Jamie Clayton MS, RDN, CDCES, CLT
(she/her)

When I decided to pursue a degree in nutrition I was drawn to the idea that something as basic as food could have such a profound effect on health. Unlike pharmaceuticals or complex therapies, food is simple and essential. I want to help people reconnect with food amidst modern lives and an industrialized food system that minimizes food’s importance at the detriment of health. My nutrition practice is grounded in the simple idea of food as foundational, starting at conception through the end of life.

Working as a Dietitian, I see that most people have a basic understanding of nutrition, but putting this information into practice is profoundly challenging. My objective when working with clients is to help them sort through the myriad of barriers and old habits to forge new relationships with food grounded in balance, health, and the principle that eating can and should be enjoyable. For me, that means embracing body health instead of weight, creating a place for all foods and focusing on mindful eating.
Jamie Clayton, RDN, CDCES - Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in Seattle, WA
Prior to joining Dandelion Nutrition, I worked for four years in community health where I focused on maternal, childhood, and adolescent nutrition and Diabetes self-management. I am a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (formerly Certified Diabetes Educator). This allows me to help clients develop skills to self-manage their Diabetes and the challenges that accompany living with it. While my primary approach is nutritionally focused, I also work with clients and their medical teams to ensure that medication, blood sugar monitoring, and management of acute and chronic complications are in line with personalized, long and short-term goals.

Whether you are looking to reduce meal time stress due to a picky eating child, are seeking an alternative path toward improved Diabetes self-management, or are hoping to improve your health by reevaluating your habits and relationships with food, I will meet you where you are at with a compassionate, client-centered approach. When I am not working, I enjoy cooking, fermentation experiments, hiking, reading, gardening, biking, and arts and culture around the city.
