Emily Izer MS, RDN

With all the seemingly contradictory nutrition advice and diet culture messaging we're constantly bombarded with, it's hard not to feel confused or anxious about eating. I've been there as well.

My perspective began to shift in college, when I had the opportunity to study abroad and got to experience a food culture that was totally different than my own. Not only did this have a profound positive impact on my own beliefs about food and eating, but I began to start thinking more critically about how the way we relate to food impacts our overall health and wellbeing. When I ultimately decided to pursue a career as a registered dietitian, I knew my focus would be on helping others heal their relationships with food.

After completing my nutrition degree and dietetic internship, I worked at a residential eating disorder treatment center where I solidified my passion for helping those suffering from eating disorders make peace with food and get their lives back. I currently work with both adults and adolescents who are struggling with eating disorders, disordered eating, and/or who are looking for a different way of relating to food and their bodies.  I offer compassionate, nonjudgmental, client-centered nutrition counseling grounded in a Health at Every Size approach, and utilize principles of mindful and intuitive eating to help my clients tap into the wisdom of their own bodies and find a more peaceful relationship with food.

I believe healthy eating is flexible and doesn't take up too much of your brain space.  My goal is to partner with you to help you not only nourish yourself physically, but reconnect to the joy that can be found in eating and find a greater sense of balance and ease with food and body. It would be my pleasure to support you on your path to finding peace with food.

  • BS in Spanish with a minor in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst
